SO I recently started a second blog and am looking for feedback! I would love a view! Confessions From the Whiteboard This one is focused on my life in the classroom! It is a bit easier to write about as it has been my life for 22 years!
As much as I try to keep myself positive some days the boiling point just feels low! I know I can’t be the only parent that has these days. If you have ever had a teenager you know my pain, if you have had a bipolar teenager than you really KNOW my pain!
I love to hear, “Well IF he were my kid…” It is so easy to throw stones but if you haven’t walked in someone’s shoes sometimes it is best to just listen and be there without judgement. In my case I say, “it is like stopping a speeding train.” You can WILL the train to stop but it won’t, you can yell and scream at the train for it to stop but it won’t, you can take away the train’s windows but it will still keep moving. I have to believe that somethings are just out of our control. Otherwise I am gonna beat myself up!
Today I am choosing my battles carefully because otherwise, I a bubbling over the top. Please tell me I am NOT the only one. I am trying to see the silver lining. He is not into drugs, drinking, and other life dangerous things. He is not sick, (physically), He has some wonderful qualities. We are just going through a rough road. Although it has been a lifetime for him on this road. I am working for a smoother tomorrow! Still learning how to parent a bipolar teen. Hoping tomorrow will be better!
My school is situated on 135 acres of pine forest. It is the biggest undeveloped track of land in our city. (West Palm Beach, FL) Just beyond that we have a 10 variety + bamboo garden. The students can take a serene nature walk through the bamboo garden. It is a picture perfect view from our school building!
Are you a hugger or a non-hugger?
HUGGER with a capital H!!!! I have been known to hug a perfect stranger! But if I feel the tension in a greeting I will stay hands off!
What is your favorite toppings on pizza?
Onions and mushroom! (Ha Onions and hugging seem like a match made in heaven!!!) Veggies all the way, although I have been known to eat pepperoni. Heck after not being able to eat pizza for so long I will eat it almost anyway it comes! What? Yep! Could not tolerate the spice in the tomato sauce or the tomatoes for that fact! Curious why? If you were the original designer of one existing corporate logo, which one would you select?
For me logos are a fascination! Your one quick chance to get your point across in an image or words. For me hands down it would be “Disney” that I would have designed. Just look at what it portrays… at least in my eyes! FUN, whimsy, personal! It is so easily incorporated into all aspects of the Disney company! I would so loved to have added my personal touch!
So logos have a whole psychology about them! I recently had to come up with a logo and had to convey a message to my “people”. You have to consider the psychology behind colors and emotions! Ha notice Disney is Black and white portraying “Balance”! And then look at Diversity! I think Disney needs to move into that color scheme as the parks are more diverse than most other places you go! People from all over the world walking and enjoying themselves in one place! Maybe knowing what the company aims to do with their logo it can help you feel more connected to the brand, the product and most of all the emotion they want you to feel.
Complete this sentence: Where I can seek my solace is…
Really… I would like to say the beach or forest or somewhere out in nature cause I find those places most tranquil but in honesty it is my bedroom.
When I want to be left along, comforted, have a quiet break I run for the confines of my bedroom. Lights dim, diffuser going, fan swirling, peace and tranquility for sure! And of course my dogs are with me, giving me greater solace!
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Well, last week was Thanksgiving so I would like to say that but honestly it was having time off from the alarm clock! I love not having to set an alarm clock or really having to wake up to an alarm clock! Somehow my sleep is so much better with out the eminent sound!!!
Looking forward to Friday!!!!!!
Getting back to blogging s like the old proverbial horse. “Just Do IT”. So I am making that commitment. I am a checklist kinda gal, if I write it, I WILL get it done. Thinking it doesn’t do enough for me! So, I am making this pledge! I am getting back on the horse and I will do IT!
SO added to my daily “chores” — Write blog post!

Loving yourself enough is a hard concept for most! Infact I was in the majority of people who did not truly grasp this concept until my health started to deteriorate. I thought “illness” is what happened to other people. I understood that it could be me “one day”, but, I thought that “one day” was FAR…FAR… into the future! Not one that was around the corner for me! So as things went wrong I knew I HAD to do something different! I am grateful everyday that I was pushed into my path! ❤ Michelle
I have made it a point the last few years to support Small Businesses for my holiday shopping. It took me a few years to realize the impact of shopping small over shopping big box businesses.
I have ordered 2 handmade signs from a local mom who makes signs. I have ordered 3 handmade essential oil bags for friends. I have ordered a handbag through someone who sells Luci Bags. I think it is so much more meaningful knowing that I am not only giving a personalized gift but I am helping a family put food on the table over paying big box retail prices.
If you have been interested in essential oils head over to http://www.sunnyoils.com and check me out! Purchase a Premium Starter Kit and I will send you a bottle of Christmas Spirit, Orange or Nutmeg. I will continue knocking off my holiday list with other small businesses. ❤ Michelle
