Share Your World – 2016 Week 1

As a child, who was your favorite relative?

My favorite relative was my mom’s brother, my Uncle Mike. He had no children and treated me extra special! I used to fly from Florida to Chicago alone from age 5 to age 10 every summer. I would leave the day after school got out and return just before school started. I stayed with my uncle and his wife. I just recently discovered WHY I stayed with him! A BIG SHOCKER for me! In fact I am writing a book about it! I digress! my uncle did things with me my mom could never afford. He even bought me my first bike, took me to Great America (Six Flags) and ordered take out pizza! (That was a BIG deal for me!)

If you could be a tree or plant, what would you be?

If I were a plant I would want to be bamboo! It grows fast and some varieties are TALL!!! ! I am 4’10” not TALL! I have bamboo growing right outside my classroom and it has grown up passed the second story windows!

What would be your preference, awake before dawn or awake before noon?

As a teacher I have been mercy to the alarm clock for 20 years plus! Not that I could sleep until noon BUT waking up in the dark, leaving before dawn is NOT my choice of how best to start my day! In fact I have ACOUSTICOPHOBIA a fear of loud sounds. I try not to think about the ringing alarm, in fact I have it set to a soothing sound, but that doesn’t always settle my nerves! Most days my body wakes up by itself a few minutes before the alarm goes off and I quickly shut it off just so I don’t have to hear it!

Would you like to sleep in a human size nest in a tree or be snuggled in a burrowed spot underground?

Neither! 1. Being in a tree would make me nervous that I may fall! And 2. being underground I would be nervous of something falling on my head! Underground places scare me too! BOY I am seeing a pattern of anxiety here!!!

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am grateful I had last week OFF of work! It was a nice transition into the new year!

I am looking forward to helping a person on my team host her first make and take! I love the excitement as new people begin to grow their own business! The possibilities are endless and the spark in the new teammates eye is infectious!
